ADAMAWA: 18 Year Old Arrested for Killing a Woman, 1 Year Old Baby

Adamawa State Police have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicious of murder of wife of one Alh. Usman, 36, and her one-year-old son in Lamurde Local Government Area of ​​the state. 



A statement signed by Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said The suspects were identified as "Volamu Kalbes" and the victims were residents of Sabon Layi village in Lamurde Local Government Area. 

It is alleged that the suspect attacked on the side of the river where she went to bathe with her child. 

When the victim was attacked, she was said to have resisted the suspect's attempt to rape her but was repulsed, as he overpowered her as a result and forced her to drown in the water where she died. 

As if that weren't enough, the suspect took the crying baby by the river and squeezed him into the water until he lost his life. Following the arrest, the suspect was arrested by the Lamurde Police Headquarters, following a report by the deceased's husband, Alh. 

Usman Abdul who is currently grieving the loss of his wife and child. 

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police CP SK Akand has ordered an in-depth investigation into the matter and directed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the SCID to take charge of the investigation. 

He also called on the public to stop committing crimes because the police would do their utmost to prosecute anyone found violating the country's laws. 

The Commissioner of Police assured the government and people of Adamawa State of his commitment to the rule of law.
