More than ten million people have registered to vote in the ongoing voter registration exercise across Nigeria.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC made the announcement on Monday.
Statistics show that the new registrants reached 10,487,972, and the total number of registered voters was 8,631,696.
As of 7 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, there were 3,250,449 online subscribers, and 5,381,247 who came in person to register.
The data shows that of the new applicants, 4,292,690 are males while 4,339,006 are females, 67,171 are disabled and 6,081,456 are young.
The INEC said the extension was necessary in view of the people's interest in the registration process and the fact that citizens were seeking an extension of the deadline, which was set for June 30. of June became the last day of the project.
