Bala Muhammad Wins PDP Guber With 646 Votes

Bauchi Governor Sen Bala Mohammed has clinched the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for a second term in office.

Muhammad was returned as the governorship candidate for the second term after a fresh primary election was conducted on Saturday at the Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi.

The Returning Officer, Murtala Damagun, declared Mohammed polled 646 votes cast by delegates out of the 656 accredited for the exercise.

He said "out of the total number of 656 delegates for the Guber primaries across 20 LGs of Bauchi, 650 were accredited while 646 cast their votes".

“Having certified the process of elections in line with the constitution of the PDP, I hereby declare Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the 2023 General elections in Bauchi state”, Damagun said.

In his acceptance speech, the Governor thanked the delegates for the patience and commitment to the party, assuring that their struggle will not be in vain.

Governor Bala also assured that he will continue to do things that will move the state forward, as according to him, the purpose of governance is development and management of people.

Bala who boasted that the PDP will win the 2023 General elections, said, so far the party has not let the people down as it has performed beyond their expectations in Bauchi.

Mohammed expressed confidence about winning the 2023 general elections by PDP, saying the party has performed well in the State.
