The Nigerian Senate has approved the appointment of seven new ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The appointments were confirmed after a parliamentary review session on Wednesday.
While some of the new ministers, especially the former legislator, were required to greet the legislature to pass, some of them were detained and questioned on national issues.
President Buhari, in a letter to the House dated June 15, 2022, urged the House to approve his appointment.
He said the requirement for approval of the appointment was in line with the provisions of Section 147 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
The confirmed ministers include: Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh - from Abia; Umana Okon Umana - from Akwa Ibom; Ekumankama Joseph Nkama- from Ebonyi; and Goodluck Nanah Opiah - from Imo.
The others are Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub - from Kano; Ademola Adewole Adegoroye - from Ondo; and Odum Udi - from Rivers.
