Yahaya Gumau Wins NNPP Bauchi South Senatorial Ticket

The incumbent senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the national assembly, Lawal Yahaya Gumau has been declared winner of the ticket of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Yahaya Gumau who has been in the National Assembly as member of the House of Representatives and later Senator under the auspices of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), failed in his bid to return under the APC as he was defeated at the primaries forcing him to pitch tent with the NNPP.

He polled a total of 230 votes cast by the delegates of the party from the 20 LGAs in the state to emerge winner and senatorial candidate of the party for the 2023 General elections.

In his remarks after the declaration of the results, he thanked the delegates for giving him the opportunity to recontest for the senatorial seat assuring that he will continue to do his best to develop the zone.

Lawal Yahaya Gumau expressed confidence that the NNPP will win the 2023 General elections in the state considering how people of political values are joining the party from other parties.

The Senator then commended the aspirant, Musa Babangida Maijama’a who withdrew from the race to enable him get the ticket assuring that he will work with him and other members of the party to ensure victory in the general elections.
