Abducted Relatives of Bauchi Ex-Governor Regain Freedom- Police

Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed that the kidnappers of three family members of the former Bauchi State Governor Ahmed Adamu Mu'azu have freed their victims.

Police Public Relations Officer PPRO SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil told reporters in Bauchi on Tuesday, saying that, "they were all released and were taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention."

Though it could not be ascertained whether ransoms were paid, The victims, three relatives of the former Governor are Hajiya Asma’u Alhaji Adamu, the younger sister to the former governor, Malama Halima Abdullahi, and one Nura, who were kidnapped two weeks ago.

The bandits attacked resident of the former Bauchi Governor and killed his nephew Mua’zu Danladi, a 25-year-old man.

Appreciating God for His intervention, relatives of the former Governor who doesn't want to disclose their names in print said, "after 14 agonizing and traumatic days in captivity, the almighty Allah, who is the way maker, miracle worker and light in the darkness has again answered the numerous prayers of the faithfuls and granted them freedom from their captives.” 

The relatives confirmed that the victims are released “following a negotiated release,and have commenced the necessary medical examinations and trauma therapy in the Hospital.”
