Bauchi SPHCDA Intimates Governing Board Members on Key Healthcare Programs

Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency has organized an orientation workshop for members of SPHCDA Governing Board to intimate them on series of key health intervention initiatives as well as other PHC services.

The Orientation meeting took place at Chartwell Hotel Misau LGA. 

According to Chairman State Primary Health Care Development Agency who is also the Board Chairman Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, the meeting was to orient the board members about key health interventions, and other significant progress recorded in the implementation of PHC services.

Discussions were centred around programs and projects domiciled in health sector, such as Basic Health Care Provision Fund, Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency BASHCMA, Immunization Plus & Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT Project), as well as Saving One Million Lives program.

Other critical areas discussed, include update on 2022 Budget Allocation to health sector, challenges of releases and other revolving impediments associated with. 

The meeting also deliberated on the issue of mutant circulating vaccine derived polio virus; pointed out efforts and mechanism put in place to respond and curtail the spread of the disease. 

It was later resolved that the board members will work towards advocating for more budget allocation and releases as well as championing the course of effective and functional primary health care system capable of addressing number of avoidable diseases in the state.

An area of emphasis during the meeting was a critical review and adoption of new model of budget system in the budget process that will enhance performance, provide better results if properly applied especially for health sector components. 

Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and overseeing the Ministry, Alhaji Ali Babayo then appreciates the continuous support and guidance by the development partners toward improving and strengthening our health system so as to meet up the challenge of universal health coverage target.
