Eid-el Kabir: Gombe State Government Stresses the Need for Peaceful Coexistence

The Gombe State Government has hosted Government functionaries to a luncheon as part of activities marking 2022 Eid-el Kabir Sallah celebration.

The hosting been organized at the New Banquet Hall, Government House is an age-long practice of the Government to provide room for exchange of compliments after the observance of Eid prayers to further cement peaceful coexistence amongst the divers Government functionaries and divers people of the state.

The State Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau presided over the event on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who is part of Federal Government delegation to Saudi Arabia.

In an address, the Deputy Governor congrattulated the Muslim faithfuls over successful celebration.

He admonished that the season teaches lessons of sacrifice, love and peace which must be imbibed by all, especially the Muslim Ummah to foster cohesion and harmony.

He noted that, when the spirit of love and sacrifice is imbibed a lot of the challenges the nation is passing through shall be greatly minimized.

Dr. Jatau appreciated the contributions of the people in Gombe State towards ensuring peaceful coexistence for the overall good of all and sundry.

He prayed that God accepts the prayers and sacrifices made during the season and bless Gombe State and the nation to be able to surmount the challenges militating against our peaceful coexistence.

The Deputy Governor later led the Government delegation to Gombe Emir's Palace where they treated to a display of durbar.

At the Palace, the Emir of Gombe,Alh. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar lll led his chiefs and traditional title holders in the procession on horses.

Shortly after display of durbar and homage paying by his District Heads, Village Heads, and title holders the, Emir payed homage to the Deputy Governor.

In his address the Emir congratulated the Muslim Ummah over successful celebration, calling on all people to leave in peace with one another and support governments efforts to provide good governance to the people.

He emphasized the need for people to engage in farming towards food security, also calling on farmers and herder's to ensure living in peace so as to limit the rate of conflicts that results in lose of lives and properties.
