Gombe APC Reconciliation Committee Intensifies Action, Meets Abuja Based Contestants

The Gombe State All Progressives Congress Reconciliation Committee in its relentless pursuit, has continued to meet with those who contested and lost primaries with a view to appeasing them over problems encountered during the primary elections.

The Chairman of the Committee, Manassah Daniel Jatau, Ph.D, who is the State Deputy Governor and Chairman sub- Committee on National Assembly Primaries, led members to Abuja Federal Capital Territory to meet with some of the Party Members who are based there.

It could be recalled that the Committee was innaugurated by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and mandated with the responsibility of reconciling aggrieved party members believed to harbour some grievances after the conduct of the primaries with a view to restoring peace and harmony in preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

The constituting of the Committee on reconciliation is therefore part of the party's deliberate effort to sanitise the party of sharp misunderstandings among members to avoid unnecessary frictions that may hamper the parties successes in the general elections outing.

During the visits to the affected members, the Committee met with many of the party stalwarts who have responded positively and shown desire to support the party in the forthcoming general elections.

The Deputy Governor said "the visit and the meetings we have had with the affected members has been very fruitful and interesting,regarding it as a good development for the party's success. Let me point out that except for one or two persons who had to travel out, the Committee met almost all of them, and they have received us warmly. We have discussed at length, and they have assured us of their full support to the Government and the party."

"Even though there are two of the members who have already initiated litigation process in the court, but we are working towards wooing them to withdraw the cases for us to settle the matter amicably" he added.

"The Committee was given two weeks to submit it's report. We are doing all we could to make sure we meet the target. This is because the assignment is so important to us and the party. We shall ensure we give the party the best for the interest and progress of the party, that is why we have accorded priority attention to ensuring that the work is successful".

Members of the Committee include Commissioner of Local Government, Alh. Dasuki Jalo Waziri,one time Commissioner of Rural Development, Alh. Samaila Hassan, Former Chairman Board of Internal Revenue, Gombe State, Alh. Salisu Baba Alkali, Barr. Gaius Achana.
