HAJJ 2022: How NAHCON Chairman was Barred from Boarding Flight to Saudi Arabia

A video of a drama at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja, has been circulating, when Niger State Pilgrims Board chairman Umar Makun Lapai barred NAHCON chairman Zikrullah Hassan from boarding a flight to Saudi Arabia.

Umar Makun Lapai confirmed the incident during a telephone interview with newsmen from Minna, the capital of Niger State.

He said he could not allow the NEC chairman to go on hajj while 50 percent of the pilgrims from Niger State and other Nigerian states were stuck.

He said as chairman of the National Hajj Commission NAHCON, Zikrullah Hassan should not embark on his pilgrimage as a large number of pilgrims from different parts of Nigeria did not know their fate this year.

He said the leaders should be the last to go for the hajj to ensure that no one is left behind.
