Russian President Vladimir Putin has told parliamentary leaders that he has not taken any action against Ukraine.
Speaking from Duma, Mr Putin slammed the West, saying that if they could, let them defeat him on the battlefield.
Mr Putin says, "we have heard them say they want to defeat us on the battlefield, so obviously let's meet on the battlefield, should they try us and see."
In Ukraine, Russian forces continue to occupy the eastern region of Donetsk, after seizing the last city in Luhansk.
Reports say the Ukrainian government has dismissed Putin's remarks, saying it is also pursuing its own forces.
