Nigeria's Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has warned his supporters to be patient with the differing views of Nigerians so as not to jeopardize the future of other parties.
Mr Obi made the announcement in a message posted on his Twitter account, thanking his supporters for their support.
His warning comes amid reports that their attempt to unite the NNPP with its presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has failed because they have failed to decide who will be backed as a presidential candidate.
He said that while the situation in Nigeria was known for its anger and frustration, "it was imperative to use the available energy to gain the support and solidarity of others".
Obi made the remarks after Rabiu Kwankwaso said he could not be the vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
Kwankwaso's remarks have sparked controversy, especially on social media, with Obi's supporters criticizing him with harsh words.
