Sallah Celebration: Gov. Ganduje Pardons 13 Sentenced to Death, 90 other Inmates

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has pardoned 90 inmates, including 13 who were sentenced to death.

The governor did so as a result of the Eid-el-kabir celebration

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Kano State Correctional Service, Musbahu Lawan K Nassarawa, the governor paid 77 people compensation for leaving the correctional facility and 13 others were sentenced to the death penalty in the past when their behavior was satisfactory which prompted the governor to pardon them.

There were also three prisoners sentenced to death who were pardoned by the governor and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Governor Ganduje also provided the prisoners with cattle, sheep and rice to enjoy the Sallah Celebration.
