The Gombe State Government has sent a high powered delegation to condole with the Emir of Nafada and the entire people of the local government area over recent death of the council chairman, Alh. Musa Abubakar.
The High Powered Government delegation was also at Gombe residence of the deceased where they condoled with immediate family members over death of their loved one.
The delegation led by the State Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau, Ph.D,who conveyed the heartfelt sympathy of governor Muhummadu Inuwa Yahaya,who has been away out of the state on official engagements, described the death of the Chairman as very shocking and devastating considering the deceased contributions while alive as impactful.
He said, the deceased had been a key player in political and socioeconomic development of Nafada LGA , the state and the nation whom the government and the people were looking up to for more contributions.
He lamented that death, the inevitable phenomena in human life has taken him at a time when his services were most needed but considering that death is an act of God, we have to only accept it in good faith.
The Deputy Governor reiterated concern that, the state of affairs in the country is so worrisome that when you lay hands on your deceased relation is worthy of giving thanks to God.
He added that, those who died are more at peace than those alive in Nigeria, admonishing the living to live with eternity in view and as well leave behind positive records to be remembered for.
Receiving the delegation in his palace, the Emir of Nafada, Alh. Muhammadu Dadum Hamza appreciated the love and concern shown them by the government for coming to identify with them in their moment of bereavement.
The Emir described the death as very painful, shocking and devastating, and a great loss not only to Nafada LGA and Gombe State but to entire humanity.
He said, apart from the State government delegation, all the eleven Local Government Deputy Chairmen across the state visited them yesterday, and today again the ten council Chairmen have visited them all in a show of love to their community.
He prayed God to reward the visit and to bless the entire state with peaceful coexistence and bumper harvest.
Speaking on behalf of the family at the deceased residence in Gabukka opposite Revenue Quarters, Gombe, Alh. Ahmed Abubakar expressed appreciation to the Governor and the members of the delegation for coming to identify with them in their moment of grief.
It could be recalled that, the Chairman of Nafada Local Government died in a ghastly motor accident along Gombe- Kano road recently and his remains have already been committed to mother earth at Muslim cemetery along Gombe- Bajoga road.
The delegation include Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Executive Secretary Primary Health Care, and Provost, College of Legal and Islamic Studies Nafada and political stalwarts among others.
