A Woman led political group called Marshal Support group has concluded plans to mobilise one million voters to cast their votes in favour of the All Progressives Congress APC Bauchi State Governorship Candidate Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, in the forthcoming 2023 governorship election.
President of the Group Hajiya Salma M. Tukur stated this at a contact and sensitisation meeting of stakeholders in Bauchi, saying, "we are robust in our approach, we are doing our best to deliver one million votes to Airmarshall Sadique Abubakar, and ensure that we protect the votes so that he will win the election to become next Bauchi State Governor.
Salma said, "We are restrategising, we will visit all the wards and have continues lobbying to stakeholders and influencers in order to have a strong hold grip of state and communities, in favour of our candidate."
The group has also vowed to sway the entire Bauchi State voters for the APC during the gubernatorial election.
She recalled that during the 2019 Governorship election, PDP scored 515,113 APC scored 500,625 votes, but in 2015 APC polled 654,934 PDP, secured 282,650 votes, which clearly shows that with 1 million votes, air marshall's victory is assured.
She added that, “To this end, our sensitization and campaign drive will focus on the grassroots through village-to-village and ward to ward aggressive mobilization to ensure that Sadique Abubakar secures over 1,000,000 million votes in Bauchi State in 2023 elections."
“We don’t see any obstacles in achieving this target because the APC candidate is, accepted by the majority of voters who are mostly women and youth, he is the most experienced and most prepared to take the State out of its current woes."
“Among all the top candidates, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has the capacity, the network, and the know-how to take the State to the next level and salvage the state from total collapse” she assured.
Salma said they have gone far on the strategies adopted to ensure victory for Sadique Abubakar, “The first phase shall essentially comprise of a massive grassroots mobilization strategy where registered voters would be encouraged to turn out in large numbers for collection of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), while the second phase shall comprise of a comprehensive village to village and ward to ward campaign and mobilization and networking for effective voter turn-out for Sadique’s election.
She advised voters to forget about primordial sentiments and vote for sadique Abubakar who is detribalized and well prepared to unite and rescue the State.
Speaking at the meeting, the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate Alhaji Shehu Musa Barden Gabas who represented Air Marshal Sadique at the occasion said, "We are ready to take the State to the next height."
He expressed his sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support they have been receiving from voters and when elected they pledged to justify the confidence reposed on them.
