Bauchi APC Chieftain Escapes Death

A former Bauchi State gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress APC Alhaji Muhammad Sani Al'ameen has escaped death by whisker when a gun shot was fired at his car by gunmen along Akwanga -Abuja Express way. 

Al'ameen, it was gathered was on his way to Abuja last friday when the incident happened. 

While narrating his ordeal to journalists in Bauchi, Al'een said he narrowly escaped death in the hands of the gunmen. He explained that, “I was coming from Bauchi to Abuja, we were approaching Akwanga. I saw some vehicles following us closely, when I observed, I asked my driver to enter AYM Shafa filling station, the driver said 'we have fuel,' I Said let's enter, we entered and purchased little fuel, spent some minutes before we proceed."

"When we reached a round about, the car just resurfaced again, they ambushed us,  blocked our vehicle and open fire and when I heard gun shot and heard a bang on my car, we stopped, then one of them opened our car and entered pointing his gun, and asked our driver to drive, but I said to the driver don't move, with Allah's help he obeyed me refused to start the car," he said.

He added that, "They looked at time and seized our phones, took away my brief case and some of our personal belongings and left. Probably, they ware afraid we are on round about even though they scared people away but since it was a busy road, many vehicles might also come, that's what saved us."

He expressed shock over the shooting of his vehicle and attempt to either assassinate or to kidnapp him. "We stopped and complained to the near by Army Check point, that we were fired at by some gunmen.

He however appealed to government and other security agencies, to intensify effort to end this issue of banditry and insecurity in the country and prayed to Allah to continue to protect the country.
