The Federal Government said that it has done its best to end the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU.
Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu disclosed this to the press at the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, during the ongoing meeting with heads of public universities at the premises of the University Management Board.
So far, a secret meeting has been held regarding the meeting, and it is expected that the Minister will address the media at the end of the meeting.
Adamu Adamu said, "What we are doing is to act according to the instructions given to us by the president that, while trying to draw the attention of ASUU to return to call off the strike, government will not repeat the mistakes it has made in the past, to sign agreements that could not implement.''
"In an effort to overcome today's problems, we will not sow ourselves problems that we will not be able to harvest tomorrow," said the minister.
