World Clean-Day: Foundation Partners BASEPA, Engage Bauchi Youth on Community Clean up Exercise

Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with Kashim Foundation have engaged youth in Bauchi on the importance of cleaning their environment, as part of community services, to mark the World Clean-Up Day 2022.

The activities marking the day held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat Bauchi Council on Saturday and the symbolic evacuation of refuse in some communities within the metropolis took a center stage during the celebration.

The World Clean-up day commenced three years ago and Bauchi is among the states that celebrate the day with the call on youth to play key role in evacuating west in their variouse communities for a better and healthier Society.

Director General of BASEPA Dr. Ibrahim Kabir explained the concept and important of collaborations in environmental protection is not better time than now, emphasizing that partnership help a lot in managing environmental challenges,

He said, "Generating a west is invitable, but how  we manage it is the most important aspects as far as environmental protection is all about, especially in a day like this."

"We considered high west collection center in communities close by the side of the roads, especially the one close to Bakaro Primary school, they require urgent attention, and that's why we are here to clean up, and we make sure that we evacaute all the west with the youth participation to mark the day," he added.

For Kashim Foundation, while explaining reasons for the celebration in Bauchi Rasulun Kashim a representative of the foundation, maintained that they are in the community to contribute with what they have by evacuating the refuse dumped.

"Provide a state where a death free because it's improve the livelyhood of people around it, we all people of this earth it is our home, our environment we all have to come together to see that we stop littering polluting the land to make sure that we a good and safe environment for us and the generation to come after us insha Allah."

Meanwhile, during the Clean-Up engagement, some notable stakeholders and youth commended the collaborative effort and the initiative for inclusiveness so as to maintain healthier environment at all times.
