Samuel Luka, Bauchi

The Bauchi state Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar has promised massive skills acquisition opportunities for youth and women if elected in 2023.

Ambassador Sadique who was addressing mammoth crowd of supporters during the flag-off of his campaign at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium on Thursday, argued that distributing goats in the name of empowerment packages is not enough to pull out youth and women from the grip of poverty.

The APC Governorship candidate said if elected as Governor in 2023, his administration will change the system such that it will better the living standard of the electorates, particularly youth and women.

"Any society without Government intervention will not progress. To that regard, we will carry the women along in all our developmental Programmes because they are key stakeholders in the development of every society", he explained.

"The Government of APC will in Sha Allahu, ensure that measures are put in place to assist the women", Ambassador Sadique reiterated.

The Gubernatorial hopeful who said that the youth constitute 60-70 percent of the Nigeria's population, regretted that no tangible measures have been put in place to make them self-reliant.

"Some people are sharing goats to the youth, it's not about goats, what is required is skill, they should be empowered with skills, let them be given the opportunity to learn handwork to make them self-reliant", he added.

Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar assured the people of Bauchi state that if given the opportunity to govern Bauchi state, his administration is going to change the lives of the people of the state positively.

"In Bauchi state, God has blessed us with enough solid minerals but unfortunately because of lack of concern, these mineral resources have not been harnessed to the benefit of the masses", he regretted.

"I want to assure the good people of Bauchi state that if God gives us the mandate, we will ensure that they are properly harnessed to their benefit", he said.

The APC Gubernatorial candidate while commenting on the plights of youth, lamented that the commercial motorcycle operators have been treated unjustly.

"We have observed with serious concern, the injustice that has been meted to commercial motorcycle operators, when we come on board we will help them", he promised.

Ambassador Sadique also promised to if elected, assist market men and women to boost their businesses.

"Our own is going to be unique, it's not going be like what they are experiencing now", he said.

APC's Sadique called on the people of Bauchi state to come out en mass and vote for all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom.
