Bauchi Gov. CAN Chairman Urge Christians to Emulate Virtues of Jesus Christ

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and the state Chapter Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Abraham Damina Dimeus have called on the christian faithfuls to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ as they celebrate the 2022 Christmas which herald his divine and glorious birth.

In their separate goodwill messages Bala Mohammed and the clergyman, Rev Dr. Damina who made the call affirmed that it is important for Christians in Bauchi state to emulate the virtues of their Lord and savior Jesus Christ who was born to fulfil the purpose and promises of God for mankind for salvation. 

Bala Mohammed while congratulating the Christian community for celebrating this year's Christmas, noted that, Jesus Christ had throughout his lifetime preached peace, honesty, love for one another and above all the fear of God.

"It is these virtues that people irrespective of their religious belief are enjoined to imbibe and put into practice", the Governor added.

The Governor urged the Christian faithfuls to while celebrating the event with meditation and happiness, they should also reflect seriously on their routine and spiritual deeds in the last one year and pray to God for better and prosperous years ahead.  

Bala Mohammed while reiterating his call for mutual respect and peaceful co-existence among the citizenry, further appealed for peaceful living with one another irrespective of political, cultural and religious differences.

"We should also imbibe the spirit of love and forgiveness. The Christmas period should also be used to strengthen existing friendships and establish new ones", he added.

On his part, the CAN Chairman, Rev. Dr. Abraham Damina affirmed that Christ is an epitome of love, unity and oneness, urging the believers to identify with these virtues as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

He called on Christians in the state to embrace love and humility which Christ represents as we celebrate this year's Yuletide.

The CAN Chairman further urged Christians in Bauchi state to maintain peace throughout the season and beyond and eschew bitterness.

He commended the State Governor, Bala Mohammed for not placing one religion above the other in the state but dealing with each accordingly.
