Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed has opened up on why he selected Auwal Jatau as his running mate under the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the State.
Governor Mohammed who was speaking during his campaign tour at the emir's place of Zaki local government area council, said that "I, please want to inform you that the vote I got in Zaki is what made me select Auwal Jatau, your son as my deputy governor in our struggle for a second term tenure in office",
According to the governor, who said
"Zaki was the only local government area I won my 2019 gubernatorial elections 100 percent out of the 20 LGAs in the State. And I also appealed to the people of Zaki to double this tims around by voting PDP from top to bottom."
In his words: "With due regard and consideration to other LG as, I didn't mean to demean the other 19 LGAs, but it's the truth and it's also in the record", Mohammed clarified.
The governor was highly overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd of supporters who came out to receive him, saying "Initially, I am here to solicit for your votes, but from what I saw, I'm highly excited and confident to just go back home because of the love and support you shown to me."
Earlier in his speech, the district head of Katagum, Zaki local government, Alh Mustapha Mahmoud thanked the governor for his love for the area and for choosing their son as his running mate in the State.
He equally thanked the governor for selecting the Gamawa among the LGA to flag off his 2023 gubernatorial election campaign in the State.
The district head of Zaki assured the governor of his councils and good people of the area of their total loyalty and support towards his re-election in the forthcoming general elections in the State.
