Nigeria's Survival: Governor Bala Eulogises Fallen Heroes for Paying the Supreme Price

Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed has eulogized the Nigerian fallen heroes for paying the supreme price which paved way for the country's survival and unity.

The Governor stated this during the launching of 2023 Emblem appeal fund week at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Bauchi on Friday.

He however, lamented that one year after he directed for the provision of office accommodation for Bauchi stachapter of the Nigerian Legion, the directive is yet to be actualized.

Bala Mohammed who blamed the delay on what he described as unnecessary bureaucracy, said in one week, an office would be  made available for the legionnaires.

"Our fallen heroes have made the greatest sacrifices to allow us to enjoy collective living," he said.

Bala who apologised for the inability of the government to fulfil the promise, made a personal donation of N1.5 million for this year's Emblem Appeal Fund Week while his Deputy gave N1 million naira. 

Our Corresspondent reports that, in all, Bauchi State Government donated N10.3 million to celebrate this year's armed forces remembrance day.

The Bauchi State Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Idris Danjuma Ningi had while speaking earlier, commended Governor Bala Mohammed led administration for always supporting the Legionnaires to attain progress in the state.

According to Ningi, retired members of the armed forces are ever ready to offer contributions to sustain and improve the current level of peace and harmony in Bauchi State.

He appealed to the Bauchi state government to ensure that all pledges made to the legion are fulfilled in good time for the smooth implementation of its programmes.
