Church Holds Mega Gospel Concert in Bauchi

The House on the Rock Church in Bauchi state, on Friday, held one of Nigeria's largest gospel concerts tagged 'Zamar', with many talented gospel artists exhibiting their talents.

Speaking shortly before the commencement of the concert, the Convener of the concert and senior pastor, House on the rock, Bauchi, Pastor Micheal Akor, said that the exercise was to spiritually prepare Bauchi state and the country at large for peaceful general elections.

Akor added that the event was an interdenominational gospel concert that helps to promote peace in the country by bringing christians of different denominations together with God's love.

"What gave birth to Zamar is that I have been having this vision in my spirit for about two years and I have been running away from it.

"However, God told me that we are coming into a time that the church has to arise in great power and strength and in order to do that, it has to release a sound as we stay in the place of prayer.

"God told me that Zamar is something we should make happen and you cannot talk of the church exercising authority without unity and because of that Zamar is bringing the whole body of Christ together to lift up a sound in praise and worship and also in the place of prayer"

"We are having the Catholic mass choir, the Cocin, Zumatan Mata, Ecwa, Baptist, all ministering here, just to fuse in the whole system where we begin to exercise our authority as the body of Christ.

"This is Bauchi in the North-East, a lot of people don't want to come this way, Zamar is bringing the North-east in the news for something good, we have been hearing negative reports concerning the Northeast, but this time, we are hearing of something good happening," he said.

Also Speaking, one of oldest gospel artists who is recognized internationally, Dr Panam Paul, said that the Zamar gospel concert is the beginning of building the bond in the body of Christ that Nigeria has not had in a very long time.

"This is the first time this kind of thing is taking place here in Bauchi. By the privilege of age, I started much earlier in my music career and by the grace of God, I have been privileged to be a secular musician for 10 years before I got converted and next year in the month of April, will make it 50 years I have been in the gospel music industry.

"We have formed the bond of unity through this event and I know that it is only music Ministers that do not quarrel.

I have been privilege by the grace to be a mentor to the younger generation who I expected should do better than me because a father that is greater than his children is not a great father" he said.

The Music concert featured an array of award-winning frontline indigenous artists such as; Dr Panam Paul, Minister Micah Daniel, Ibi Dave, Minister Aisa Akapso, Minister Femi Praise, Godstime Okorie, Evelyn Ernest and Grace Yunusa, among others.

Among the notable pastors that graced the event included; Pastor Michael  Akor, Pastor Jerry Ogebeba, Pastor Chinor Akor, Pastor Kingsley Ike, Pastor Gbenga Olusola and Dr Owie Abutu, amongst others.
