Emir of Katagum Lauds Provost, COE Azare for Academics Innovations

Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk II has lauded Professor Asabe Sadiya  Mohammed, Provost Aminu Saleh College of Education (ASCOE) Azare for her  innovation in academics and human capital development in her one year in office.

Umar-Faruk made the commendations at the first memorial lecture in honour of Late Alhaji Aminu Saleh former SGF and one year anniversary in office of the  provost of ASCOE Azare Professor Mohammmed on Saturday in Azare.

The Emir also lauded  Professor Mohammmed's leadership role in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship in her one -year administration.

"I enjoined her to keep up the good job, remain focused, work within the framework of the laws establishing the college  so that you will be seen as a model of transparency, accountability, and openness in the College administration.

Umar- Faruk explained that late Aminu Saleh has contributed toward the development of the Katagum emirate during his lifetime. 

"While Professor Asabe  Mohammed as the first woman provost of the college, as the international literary icon who published numerous scholarly articles that will continue to be of greater benefits to the entire people." 

Responding, Professor Mohammmed  recalled the lifetime of the late Aminu Saleh Wamban Katagum who invested immensely in her education which she prayed to Allah to grant him Jannah.

She appreciated the students' union for organizing the occasion and all the management staff of the College for giving her their maximum corporations in running the affairs of the College.

Earlier, the caretaker chairman of Katagum Local Government Alhaji . Umar Hassan, also appreciated the foresight and giant efforts of the organizers and dignitaries that grace the events.

He said college is a friendly institution which excelled in the field of academia.

Our Correspondent reports that some of the achievements of the Provost Professor Mohammed   facilitated the process of  introducing  four additional postgraduate diploma courses under the college investment. 

She has also concluded discussion with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the National Innovation Centre for the award of National Diploma in Computer and Hardware Engineering Technology, Diploma in Computer Software.

Others are Engineering Technology, Diploma in Building and Concreting, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics, Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, Diploma in Agriculture.

They also  include National Vocational Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery, Certificate in Welding and Fabrication, Certificate in Block laying and concrete.
