Stop Making Inciteful Preaching, Gov. Bala Warns Islamic Clerics

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has warned Islamic Clerics prone to making inciteful remarks, to desist from testing the will of government or face the wrath of law, saying that no one is above the law. 

Governor Bala sounded this warning on Saturday 22nd April, when Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu and other traditional title holders of Bauchi emirate council paid him sallah homage at the government house Bauchi. 

The Governor said he is in consultation with the state chief judge and grand khadi regarding the appropriate measures on how Government can approach cases of incitement, without stifling the fundamental rights of parties involved in such cases, and that those found guilty of breaching the relative peace the Bauchi state is enjoying will be dealt with decisively. 

He said government can’t fold its arms and watch while few individuals or groups tries it’s will. 

He said recent sermons by some preachers have been on national discourse and has projected Bauchi state negatively, promising that government will address the issue administratively and in accordance with the laws of the land, giving all indicted parties fair hearing.

The governor said the period of electioneering is over, now what is left is governance advise the people of the state to join hands with government towards the development of the state. 

He added that government earmarked two billion Naira for the purchase of fertilizer this year farming season.

He pledged to construct more roads, provide portable water to the 20 local government areas and essential social services needed by the people. 

Earlier in his address, Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu commended governor Bala on the visible development he brought to the State and further appealed for more of infrastructural development to communities in the suburbs and other underserved settlements within the state. 


The Emir then prayed for peace, love and tranquility in Bauchi State and Nigeria. 

Highlights of the visit was the grand Durba mounted by the Emir, emirate council members and hosts of other horse riders, amidst fanfare and pageantry, defying the sweltering heat.
