National Secretary of the group Dalhatu Umar who made this declaration while briefing journalists in Bauchi, said their decision follows a thorough investigation about Ahmed Wase, which led to the discovery of his contribution on the flow of the house of representatives to the national development.
The group however appeal to the All Progressive Congress APC to consider person with track record of achievements and who is most likely to be loved by the majority, while taking a collective stand.
According to the secretary, "there is the need for our great party APC to reconsider its decision on the issue of speakership of the 10th Assembly by placing it in the right hand and the right place."
He added that, "it is important for our party to consider the zones which various contestants came from and the contributions they bring towards the success and the victory recorded by the party in each zone to avoid rancour."
"We are appealing to the president elect, and National Working Committee of APC to further revisit those decision taken for the best interest of the party and the nation at large," he pleaded.
This according to him, "will make everyone feel a sense of belonging, and help the leadership of the party to maintain its virtues, which is justice, equity and fairness."
The group however said, "it is of paramount importance to commend the efforts, maturity, resilience, tenacity and doggedness shown by members of G7 led by our principal Rt. Honourable Idris Ahmed Wase in trying to advise the party to do the right thing."
The National Secretary also reaffirmed that, "we, as patriotic Nigerians with the spirit of 'One Nigeria' in every ramification, are appealing to the members of the 9th assembly as well as members elect of the 10th Assembly, to look into this issue of Speakership as a clarion call to salvage the instruction."
Dalhatu Umar said their group has every reason to drum support for Wase because according to him, he is a person "who at times presides over the affairs of the house when called upon as a deputy speaker for good four years without rancour or any element of distrust among the principal mambers of the house."
"He is a man who sacrifice a lot for not only the party, but to the leadership of the house as a whole, including the current speaker where he stepped down for him in 2019 for fair play, unity and good coexistence among the different parts of the country."
Dalhatu added that, "this personality believed so much in the unity of this country, power rotation as well as check and balances in the legislation and governance."
