Gov. Bala Harps on Elite's, Stakeholders' Engagement to Move Bauchi Forward

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has pledged the readiness of his administration to ensure engagement with the elites and Stakeholders in order to move the state forward.

The Governor who was addressing mammoth crowd at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa memorial stadium on Monday during his inauguration for second tenure, said that the time for politicking was over, hence the need to concentrate on governance to better the living standard of the citizens.

"My dear compatriots, with the election over, we must now prioritize governance over politics, the collective over the personal, principle over ego, consensus over conflict and turn challenges into opportunities", he said.


According to him, "no matter where we stand, we can and should never disagree on one point: the primacy of Bauchi over each and every one of us. That is the bond that holds us together". 

The Governor pointed out that without a critical mass of the elite agreeing to set aside their differences and deliberately pull their intellectual, material and social capital together, "achieving the Bauchi of our dream will remain a mirage".

He further appealed, "therefore, with all humility, I am calling on all and sundry who mean well and who, like me, have benefitted from our dear state, to put aside our differences, place our agenda on the table and work together with the present Administration to advance the interests of the state".

The Governor who said by accepting to work with his administration, the elites and Stakeholders, together they can succeed in moving Bauchi state forward.


The Governor who maintained that Bauchi state has no reason to be poor, assured that by the grace of God, the mandate renewed for him would be used position the state to where it ought to be.

He said just like the past four years, the present tenure is going to witness good governance anchored on transparency and accountability.

He further said that the renewed mandate will be anchored towards inclusion and diversity management policy, founded on the principles of equity, justice and fairness.

Bala Mohammed said his second tenure will also ensure prudent management of resources, peace and security, all leading to shared prosperity for all.
