The need for people to always imbibe the sprit of regular hand washing with detergents to curb the spread of infectious diseases have been advocated.
A consultant pediatrician with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Dr. Adamu Sa'idu Adamu gave the advice during the celebration of 2023 world hand hygiene day in ATBUTH.
DR. Adamu Sa'idu pointed out that with proper hand Hygiene, the risk of transmiting diseases such as diarrhea and other form of infections through micro-organism can be reduced to the bearest minimum.
According to the medical practioner the day was set aside by the World Health Organisation to sensitise the public on the importance attached to the practise of hand washing with a view to improving a good personal hygiene among the people.
He adviced people to give priority to their wellbeing to guarantee their health status, noting that cleanliness is next to Godliness.
