'We Are United with Our Security Agencies, Traditional Institutions' ~ Musa Azare

Caretaker committee chairman of Katagum local government area of Bauchi Alhaji Musa Azare has said that there is unity and mutual understanding between the various stakeholders such as the security agencies and traditional institutions which according to him, helps in tackling some of the security challenges around the area.

He made the declaration when the state Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Muhammad visited the local government on a security tour where he briefed residents of Azare over the recent activities of some suspected armed robbers who specialised in stealing industrial power generator. 

The armed robbers were said to have killed a security guard man during their operation at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Azare study centre. 

Musa Azare while commending the police in their efforts towards tackling crimes and criminality in the area, also appreciated the state government for the support to particularly the police.

He said, "it is heartworming to hear that the suspects involved in the killing of our own in this University and the theft of public property have been arrested."

"This shows that the effort of government and our security agencies is not going in vein. Here in Azare, headquarters of Katagum local government, we are united with our security agencies and the traditional institutions alongside the government." 

He stressed that, "We working day in day out, minute by minute, we are briefing ourselves on the security situation on happenings in our local government."

"I want to use this opportunity to thank all the security agencies and my junior Brother Ahmed Guji, for all the effort they have been putting to make sure that we sleep with our two eyes closed."

"And I want to use this opportunity also to send my condolences to the family of the deceased and to the management of National Open University," he added. 

It may be recalled that the police in collaboration with other security agencies and local hunters, have recently succeeded in arresting gang of suspected criminals for alleged power generator theft in Azare town.
