33 Artillery Brigade Conducts Joint Route March Exercise in Bauchi

The 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi today conducted a joint Route March Exercise for the month of November 2023. 

The joint Exercise was part of efforts towards achieving the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, which is “To transform the Nigerian Army into Well-trained, Equipped and Highly Motivated Force Towards Achieving our Constitutional Responsibilities Within a Joint Environment."

The Exercise was led by the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe.

The Commander, while delivering his remarks to the participating troops emphasized on the need for harmony, synergy and collaboration between the military and paramilitary agencies; and also for troops to keep fit in the fight against insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria. 

Brigadier General Egbe commended the troops for their discipline, courageousness, and commitment, saying that he was impressed with the “wonderful and good to go” level of morale displayed by the troops during the conduct of the route march. 

He charged the troops to take advantage of the exercise to improve themselves physically and build strong friendships, among others.

The Commander disclosed that the Chief of Army Staff wants all troops to be combat ready at all times in the discharge of their constitutional roles. In that light, he said the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar has always supported the Brigade in its training and operational activities, which he said the Brigade was grateful for. 

According to him, the importance of joint training and exercises amongst military personnel and other security agencies can not be overemphasized , saying that “We are the eyes and hope of the country.”

Participants for the November 2023 Route March included officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Federal Road Safety Corps. 

Others are Department of State Services, Nigeria Immigration Service, Youth Corps members, Boys Brigade and officers/soldiers’ wives. 

The event which ended on a high note saw the Commander celebrating the success of the exercise with troops amidst high excitement.
