7 ABDUCTED CHILDREN: Gov. Bala Urges Parents to Refrain From Any Act of Revenge

 

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has called on citizens particularly parents of the 7 children who were abducted to refrain from any revenge, emphasizing the importance of upholding unity, tolerance and togetherness of Nigeria. 

The Governor made the call while interacting with parents of the seven abducted children after their repatriation from Kano state, expressing concern over what he described unscrupulous business by some individuals. 


While charging parents to be guided by the ideals and the rules of law, Mohammed commended the Kano state government and security agencies for their prompt response and commitment to rescuing the victims and the arrest of the perpetrators.

Governor Mohammed who announced the donation of one million naira each to the parents of the seven children to fund their education, called on religious groups, civil society organizations as well as traditional institutions to continue to educate the public on the parental obligation.


While expressing disappointment for the nonchalant attitude by some parents in monitoring the affairs of their children leading to the rampant cases of abduction, the Governor however charged religious and traditional leaders to educate them on their parental obligations.

He also ordered the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development to immediately enroll the children into school and announced the donation of one million naira to each of the seven victims.


Earlier, the State Commissioner of Police Muhammad Auwal who facilitated the repatriation process informed the Governor that all the suspects have been arrested and investigation is ongoing.


The children have already reunite with their families.
