CORRUPTION: Activist Advise Youth To Be Responsible in Leadership Position

From: Ahmed Ahmed

An Activist in Bauchi State,Engr. Seth Francis has advised the Nigerian Youth to show Integrity and responsibility in any leadership position they found themselves.

Francis made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Bauchi, calling on the youth to show Integrity and responsibility in leadership.

"As a concerned Nigerian, I am compelled to address the pressing issue of corruption within our ranks, exemplified by the unfortunate case of the former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs.

"It is disheartening to witness a promising youth slot tainted by alleged corruption, but this should serve as a wake-up call for all of us," Francis said.

He noted that the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, over suspected illegal financial transactions, on Monday, has sparked reactions among Nigerians.

"We cannot solely blame our predecessors; it is time for us, the Nigerian youths, to take responsibility for our actions and demand a corruption-free society.

"We must stop pointing fingers at the older generation while betraying the trust and opportunities given to us," The Activist said.

The Concern Youth explained that the recent incidents of corruption involving youth leaders highlight the urgent need for a paradigm shift.

"Instead of perpetuating a cycle of betrayal, we must strive to redeem our collective image and demonstrate readiness to lead our great nation," he said.

According to him, let us reflect on the sobering reality of various Nigerian youth leaders facing charges of corruption.

"These instances should not be brushed aside but rather serve as lessons to guide our path toward ethical and responsible leadership.

"It is time for us to break free from the shackles of corruption and showcase the true potential of Nigerian youth.

"By championing integrity, transparency, and accountability, we can build a society where trust is not betrayed, and opportunities are seized to uplift our nation.

" let us strive for a corruption-free Nigeria, demonstrating to the world that our generation is ready and capable of leading with honor and responsibility," Francis said.
