KALTUNGO CARNIVAL 2023: Emir of Zazzau Prays for Peace, Security

The Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Nuhu Ahmed Bamalli has prayed for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians and called for sustained prayers against insecurity in Nigeria. 

The monarchs made the appeal at the 2023 Kaltungo Carnival held in Kaltungo community of Gombe State. 

The emir of Zazzau who is the Royal Father of the day and Chairman of Kaduna State Council of Traditional Rulers, Nuhu Bamalli said intensified prayers were needed to complement efforts towards addressing the challenge of insecurity and ensure peaceful coexistence among the people. 

Emir Nuhu said that peace remained the key to development and a better society, and advised the people to live in peace and jettison acts that could threaten peaceful coexistence in the country. 

He commended the Governor of Gombe State and Mai Kaltungo for organising the event and their hospitality especially the warm reception accorded them always and pledged to retaliate. 

On his part, the Mai Kaltungo, who is the host, Engineer Saleh Muhammad, said prayers were needed to complement government’s efforts at winning the war against insecurity and criminality in the country. 

Mai Kaltungo, who is the deputy chairman, Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, also urged the people of Gombe to continue to live in peace while promoting issues that would strengthen unity in the state and the country at large. 

He thanked the state government and security agencies for efforts so far made to sustain peace.

Mai Kaltungo expressed happiness and appreciation to the emir of Zazzau and other traditional rulers and people from all walks of life that graced the occasion. 

Governor Muhammad inuwaYahaya of Gombe State assured his support towards promotion of culture and assured his government commitment to promote unity and culture among its citizenry.

Represented by his Deputy Governor of Gombe State Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau Governor Yahaya reminded people to always respect their culture and promotes its heritage and expresses fear that two ethnic group are on the way to diminish in Gombe State,because the people are not promoting the culture.

The Chairman of the occassion Honourable James Joseph Damara, Kauran kaltungo thanked the Mai Kaltungo for his examplary leadership, fatherly role and guidance which promote peace and brotherhood among his subjects.

The Chairman organising committee Hajiya Saadatu Saad Mustapha Alkyebban Kaltungo, said appreciated the role played by journalist towards disseminating information that help to show case the cultural heritage of Kaltungo community to the global communities.

The carnival is a cultural festival, yearly organised to showcase the cultural heritage of the people of Kaltungo Chiefdom. 

The event is also held to enhance social interaction, promote peace and unity while strengthening cooperation among the diverse ethnic groups within and outside the state. 

Guest and dignitaries were entertained with cultural and traditional dance, and inspection of historical products traditional dishes and release of pigeons by chairman of the occasion.
