The National Youth Assembly of Nigeria has taken a significant step in urging Nigerian youth and women to embrace confidence in light of future opportunities offered by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During a welcoming speech, the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria expressed his commitment to partnering with NYAN to ensure that Nigerian youth are fully engaged in the implementation of the SDGs.
Moreover, the Speaker of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria, RT. Hon. Usman B. Shagari, also affirmed his readiness to collaborate with all relevant national and international stakeholders to ensure the true implementation of the 17 SDGs in Nigeria.
During a key speech, the Program Coordinator, Usman Alhaji Lawan, who also serves as the Director of External Affairs for NYAN, emphasized the profound impact of the project in creating awareness and encouraging youth to participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing the realization of the SDGs.
He called on youth to recognize the invaluable nature of their contributions and the limitless potential they hold, urging them to join in building a sustainable and prosperous future for the nation.
The Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Adamu Tanko, and other distinguished guests contributed words of encouragement and pledged their support during the unveiling of the project.
The event marked a groundbreaking ceremony and provided a roadmap to outline the roles of youth in supporting the implementation of the SDGs. This initiative holds great promise for engaging the youth in actively contributing towards the achievement of sustainable development goals in Nigeria.
