Avoid Social Media Space ~ New AIG Zane 12 Bauchi to Officers, Men of the Force

The newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 12, AIG Okoro Julius Alawari has cautioned police officers and men of the force in Bauchi state avoid unnecessary use of social media as it can lead them into trouble.

The AIG who was speaking at the state Police Headquarters while addressing officers and men of the force during his first inspection tour as he recently assumed duty.

AIG Okoro says he was however impressed with the way and manner in which the entire premises of the Bauchi state police command as well as the officers and men of the force were all looking neat and tidy.

He said, "Thank you, I came, I saw a serene environment, very neat nice environment. When my PRO was mentioning my resume, he mentioned that I was one time the Force Provost Marshal in charge of discipline. And there is no way I can be here addressing officers and men without mentioning discipline."

"When I stepped in, I looked around whether I will see any defaulter, I looked around whether I will see any untidy person, but you are all looking very very neat," he added.

The AIG however said, "One singular thing I need to mention to you clearly, is that officers and men you should avoid social media space because it can easily bring you to trouble."

"There are men at the force headquarters, (you know that is where I came from, and I know what is happening there), that have looked into the space of the social media at all times, and if you are found at fault, you would be invited to Abuja, and when you go there only God knows whether you'll come back. Whether you'll remain there or go to your village."

He therefore urged them to be very careful, adding that, "All those things you see on the roads whether on your duty, or you are on patrol, check points and the rest, extortion beating of the civilians incivility to the members of the public, always avoid it."

He said these are offences on their own and any officer caught committing it will be dealt with accordingly. 

Earlier, the State Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Muhammad during his welcome address, expressed hope that the visit of the AIG to the Command's Headquarters will create and avenue to interact with officers and men, and acquaint them on his clear cut policy upon assumption as the new AIG in charge of Zone 12 and how to pilot the police force to a greater hight. 

The CP reassured his full support and cooperation to the new AIG towards ensuring success in he fight against crime and criminality in Bauchi State and the zone at large.
