The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau on Thursday assured of the readiness of the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed towards providing enabling environment to the State Boundary Commission to work out modalities of tackling cases of border disputes across the state.
Auwal Jatau made this known at the inaugural meeting of the reconstituted board of the Commission held at the Government House Bauchi, and expressed confidence that the new Board members would assist the state government in the onerous responsibility of resolving intra/interstate boundary and other related disputes.
The Deputy Governor who is the chairman of the state boundary commission, noted that the commission was mandated to deal with inter and intra local government boundary disputes within the state through carrying out awareness and enlightenment campaigns among the communities.
He directed the board to liaise with the State Boundary Committees and Commissions of neighbouring states with a view to taking joint measures that shall promote good inter-community relationship.
Auwal Jatau then assured that as the chairman of the commission he will do everything possible to ensure implementation of resolutions on internal boundary disputes for the development of the state.
