Coalition of state branches Chairmen of Zaar Development Association (ZDA) in Bauchi state has withdrawn support for its president, Mr Isuwa Galla over alleged fake promises and promotion of division among its members.
Mr Danny Luka, Chairman, ZDA, Lagos state branch, who made this known in a news conference in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, said that 15 out of the 26 Chairmen, made the decision.
According to him, the decision to withdraw support for the National President was also informed by his refusal to acknowledge the paramount Ruler and lack of respect for the traditional leadership and cultural heritage of the people of Gung Zaar.
“He has not identified himself with the crucial land struggle that is vital to our community's future and security.
“Galla has refused to involve and consult with the various ZDA branches, neglecting the importance of a unified approach and collective decision making.
“He has severally been not respecting our culture by leaving our own cultural festival to attend other tribe cultural festivals.
“He has also violated ZDA constitution by creating illegal branches such as Dass, Toro, Ningi and others which are not in line with the association’s constitution,” said Luka.
The group, according to him, needed a leader who would be accommodating, friendly and respect the traditions of the land, adding that lack of integrity and commitment from their president has been detrimental to their progress.
“We believe it is in the best interest of our community to seek new leadership that truly represents our goals and values.
“The coalition will be working closely with all ZDA branches and community stakeholders to identify and support a new leader who embodies the principles of unity, respect, and genuine commitment to the development of the Zaar community”. He affirmed.
