CLIMATE CHANGE: NIPR Plants 60 Trees in Bauch to Mitigate

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Bauchi State chapter has planted 60 trees in Bauchi Metropolis to mitigate climate change in the state capital.

Mr Rabiu Wada,Chairman of the Chapter said this during the tree planting campaigns organized as part of NIPR's 60th anniversary celebrations on Saturday in Bauchi.

According to him, the planting campaigns organized as part of NIPR's 60th anniversary celebrations in Bauchi would make significant strides in combating deforestation, promoting afforestation, and fostering environmental sustainability. 

“These initiatives would demonstrate the power of collective action and community engagement in addressing environmental challenges and building greener, healthier communities.

“We have planted 60 trees in Bauchi Metropolis today to mitigate climate change within the community,” Wada said.

He said the chapter would continue to collaborate with communities at the grassroots and plant more trees in communities to mitigate climate change.
 
Wada added that the activities lined up for witnessing the silver jubilee are media engagement, road walk, handpicking beverage cans and water sachets.

“Visitations to orphanage and correctional centers, award presentations to notable persons among others,” he said.

On his part, Alhaji Danlami Kawule, Commissioner of Housing and Environment lauded the effort of the Institution to curb the menace of deforestation in the state.

He said the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is enjoying a cordial relationship with the Institution in various areas of human life.

Kawule therefore pledged for continued partnership between the state government and the NIPR as professional image makers and reputation building managers for the promotion of the laudable achievements of the present administration.
