Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed, has sworn in
Six (6) newly appointed High High Court Judges and Five (5) Shari'a Court of Appeal khadis.
Governor while swearing in the Judges today in Bauchi, amidst heavy rainfall advised them to be impartial and fair in their decisions looking at the importance of upholding justice and human rights.
He advised them to work towards decongesting the correctional facilities in the state, which are currently overcrowded.
Governor, Bala said that since his administration has been making deliberate efforts to ensure the judiciary enjoys the level playing field to operate without any hindrance, stated that he will always give priority and attention to the need of the judiciary knowing it's importance and vital position in ensuring security of the state and the stability of Bauchi state in politics in particular and the society in general.
He said that he has made a provision for the befitting vehicles and other necessary requirements, "with this development, the judiciary has no excuse for cases delay in courts as it is said Justice delayed is justice denied."
Governor Bala said as a democrat, he has never for once interfered in the activities of the judiciary, in the process of appointment, formation, promotion, elevation, discipline, determination of cases or any other way.
He commended the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Rabi Talatu for her resolve, ingenuity, tenacity and future-oriented mindset, Mohammed pledged to make her work and other judicial officers easier.
Governor Bala told the gathering of his administration's keeness to doing anything humanly possible within the limited resources to ensure collaboration and interaction to decongest prisons.
He said the synergy between the executive and the judiciary is encouraging and commendable which is the key to various developmental innovations, urging the CJ to continue to sustain the tempo.
While congratulating the newly appointed judges and Khadis, the Governor advised them to cooperate and support his administration, wishing them a purposeful, eventful judicial carrier in good health and Allah's guidance and protection.
He called on the other appointees to testify and justify the confidence and trust reposed I'm them, saying the appointments were based on competence hence the need to bring in their wealth of knowledge and experience as the upcoming generation looks forward to tapping from their wealth of experience.
Governor Bala called on them not to allow personal interest rescind official responsibilities.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, expressed her gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in the new judges and assured him of the judiciary's commitment to upholding justice and human rights.
A vote of thanks was presented by Aliyu bin Umar on behalf of the newly appointed judges, expressing their appreciation to the Governor for the opportunity to serve the state and promising to discharge their duties with integrity and dedication.
The swearing-in of the new judges is a significant development in the history of Bauchi State and a major step towards ensuring that justice is served without fear or favor. With this development, the people of Bauchi State can expect a more efficient and effective justice system that will promote peace, stability, and development in the state.
