The Initiative for Good Leadership and Development, Gombe is passionately appealing to the Federal Government to urgently address the current economic hardship bedeviling the country.
This is contained in a statement signed by Tasi’u Muhammad Pantami,Public Relation Officer of the group made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said the group is deeply concerned with the fact that the country is going through trying moments with people facing the harshest economic, social and security challenges ever.
“Which follows the call for National Protest to demand for immediate intervention by the Government to alleviate the suffering of the people.
“ We wish to implore the Government to without any delay consider bringing down the price of fuel to the level before the removal of subsidy.
“Electricity tariff to return to the free banding era, and strengthen the purchasing power of the Naira,” he said.
Pantami further urged FG to reduce the cost of governance by slashing salaries and allowances of the elected and appointed politicians, while adjusting the salaries and allowances of workers to enhance productivity.
“As well to adequately equip and motivate our security forces to effectively tackle the security crises in the country.
“To also Initiate dialogue with those canvassing for the protest,” he said.
The group also call on the Muslim and Christian clerics, Traditional leaders as well as people of conscience to add their voice to the call for the Government to do the needful.
