BORNO FLOOD: CP Visits Collapsed Bridge, Deploys Personnel for Movement Restriction

The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Muhammed Lawal Yusufu psc, took proactive steps to address the aftermath of a devastating flood incident by visiting the collapsed bridge at Lagos Street, Maiduguri, following the recent flood incident.

In a press statement signed by the Supervising Police Public Relations Officer Northeast, SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil, said in line with the executive order of Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum deployed police personnel to enforce restrictions of movement on the bridge. 

This decision was made after a technical assessment by specialists who revealed potential risks if the remaining part of the bridge is overwhelmed by a heavyweights.

Wakil added that the CP directed officers and men deployed to maintain professionalism while discharging their duties and respecting the fundamental human rights of citizens.

He said CP Yusufu however sympathized with the affected members of the public and solicited their maximum cooperation and support during this period.
