In a remarkable display of compassion and commitment to healthcare, Minister of Health Professor Mohammed Ali Pate's medical outreach has benefited 20,000 poor and vulnerable individuals in Bauchi State.
This initiative, undertaken by Professor Pate's foundation, Chigari, in collaboration with the Nigerian Medical Association and other professional associations, aims to provide relief to those struggling to access medical care.
According to Dr. Ashiru Adamu Abubakar, Special Assistant to the Minister of Health, this marks the 11th medical intervention in Bauchi State, with the previous exercise also benefiting 20,000 people, including those requiring surgery.
The medical outreach comprised surgical interventions, where hundreds of surgeries, both minor and major, including 20-30 cataract extractions; Free Services, in which reading glasses were provided to tens of patients, free medication consultations, and 100 surgeries (minor and major).
Dr. Ashiru emphasized the minister's personal commitment to providing respite to patients, using his own funds to support the initiative.
"The minister is doing this from his own pocket, not office funds, as an indigene of Bauchi State, to ensure people get relief and access to hospital care for the sake of Allah".
The beneficiaries have expressed gratitude to Professor Pate, praying for Allah to reward him abundantly for his kindness. This medical outreach is a testament to Professor Pate's dedication to improving healthcare in Bauchi State and beyond.
