Professor Muhammad Safiyyu Abdulkadir, a lecturer at Federal University Kashere in Gombe State, has made history as the first indigene of Bauchi State to become a professor of Arabic Literature.
A Walima reception was held in Bauchi to celebrate Professor Abdulkadir's meritorious promotion. Distinguished Islamic scholars, including Professor Ramadan Sheriff, Secretary of the National Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NATAIS), praised Professor Abdulkadir's achievement.
"Professor Safiyyu's resilience, commitment to knowledge acquisition and dissemination, and passion for scholarly development exemplify the values instilled in us by our father, teacher, and mentor, late Sheikh Abdulkadir Musa Jahun," Professor Sheriff said.
Born in Bauchi Local Government Area on April 22, 1974, Professor Abdulkadir has authored over 40 publications, including books, articles, and book reviews. He has participated in numerous scientific meetings, conferences, and workshops globally.
The Bauchi State Director of National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Mallam Abdurrashid Abdulkadir, described Professor Safiyyu as "a product of the esteemed scholar" and congratulated him on his well-deserved promotion.
Professor Abdulkadir expressed gratitude to all who attended the occasion and dedicated his achievement to all "amajiri" pupils who memorized the Holy Quran.
