PDP North-East ZWC Backs Governors' Forum on Leadership Tussle

The North-East Zonal Working Committee (ZWC) and six state chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have thrown their weight behind the governors' forum position on the party's leadership crisis.

Reverend Emmanuel Bovoa, Zonal Chairman, announced this in a communiqué after a meeting at the Zonal Secretariat in Bauchi. 

The committee supported maintaining the status quo, recognizing Umar Iliya Damagum as acting National Chairman and Mohammed Ahmed Yayari as treasurer.

Bovoa emphasized the need for unity and peace, stating that the party's leaders' position would bring decorum and sanity. The meeting praised PDP governors' infrastructural development and urged them to continue.

The committee reflected on the party's 16-year rule and its loss to the APC in 2015, noting that the PDP remains the nation's last hope for salvation from the current challenges.
