Presidency Assures of No Leadership Gap Amid Tinubu, Shettima's Foreign Trips

The Nigerian presidency has reassured that President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima's absence from the country will not create a leadership vacuum.

Presidential Adviser on Media, Bayo Onanuga, stated that both leaders continue to perform their duties remotely. Tinubu, on a two-week vacation since October 3, remains in charge.

Onanuga cited past instances, including during Muhammadu Buhari's presidency, where the president and deputy were abroad simultaneously without disrupting governance.

"With modern technology, physical presence is not required to govern," Onanuga noted, referencing the constitution.
