The Christian community in Bauchi State have commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his kind gesture during the Christmas celebration, which brought joy and succor to thousands of families across the state.
In a show of appreciation, Mr. Abdon Gin, the longest serving head of civil service in Bauchi State, praised the governor for sustaining his good gesture over the years, describing it as a sign of true leadership and care for all. Gin, who chaired the standing committee for the distribution of the items, commended the governor for changing the narrative and setting an example worthy of emulation.
The governor's gesture, which included the provision of essential food supplies, was distributed to all 20 local government areas in the state. The items, which included 77 bulls, 139 rams, over 1,500 bags of rice, and 178 jerricans of vegetable oil, were shared among Christian communities to aid joyful festive celebration.
According to Gin, the gesture was a testament to the governor's dedication to fostering cooperation among all religious groups in Bauchi State, promoting unity and understanding. He noted that the governor's administration has been working tirelessly to ensure that all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation, feel included and catered to.
The gesture was widely appreciated by the Christian community in Bauchi State, with many expressing gratitude to the governor for making the festive season a memorable one. John Mosses, a beneficiary, said "only God will reward Governor Bala for making this year's festive season the best". He noted that the governor's gesture had brought succor to over 80% of Christian communities in Bauchi State, who had been struggling to make ends meet due to economic fluctuations.
Clergy men and women in the state also prayed for the governor's success in delivering his projects, which have positively impacted the lives of Christians in the state. They noted that the governor's administration has been a blessing to the state, and expressed hope that his good works will continue to bring joy and prosperity to all citizens.
In a statement, Governor Mohammed said he was committed to ensuring that all citizens in Bauchi State, regardless of their religious affiliation, feel included and catered to.
