Deputy Governor Mohammed Auwal Jatau, who led members of the Crude Oil Committee of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMFAC) on an inspection visit to the Kolmani Oil Field, assured that the state government will provide necessary support to ensure the project's success.
Jatau promised to work closely with the Federal Government, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), and other stakeholders to ensure the full actualization of the Kolmani Integrated Oil Field.
The acting chairman of the RMFAC crude oil committee, Engr. Hassan Mahmoud, expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of progress at the Kolmani oil field, despite its potential to contribute significantly to the nation's revenue.
Mahmoud attributed the delay to the failure to commence full-scale lifting of crude oil from the field years after its inauguration.
The representative of the construction firm, Sterling Global, Abdulhamid Aminu, disclosed that efforts are currently focused on drilling two additional wells to feed the already drilled PL809 and OPL810 before commencing crude oil lifting.
