Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in armed robbery syndicates.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command SP Ahmed Muhammad Wakil said, "The suspects were apprehended during a raid in the Sabon Layi area by a patrol team attached to the 'C' Divisional Police Headquarters."
He added that, "The suspects, Suleiman Adamu, 40, Adamu Sale, 30, and Jibrin Mohammed, 30, were found with a locally-made revolver, eight rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and three expended ammunition of the same calibre. Two motorcycle number plates were also recovered from their possession."
Wakil added that, "Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in a series of armed robberies in the Zaranda village area. They allegedly used the locally-made firearm to rob three motorcycles, which they sold to Jibrin Mohammed."
"The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has directed a thorough investigation into the syndicate to identify additional suspects and recover other stolen motorcycles," the PPRO said.
