Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has signed the Jigawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission law, aimed at enhancing electricity regulation and access in the state.
The law establishes the Jigawa State Electricity Regulatory Commission, which will oversee electricity generation, transmission, system operation, distribution, and supply in the state.
According to Governor Namadi, the law is a vital step towards sustainable development and economic growth in Jigawa State.
"By strengthening electricity regulation and promoting innovative energy solutions, we aim to create a more reliable and inclusive energy ecosystem for our people," he said.
The law also supports the development of diverse electricity solutions, including grid, mini-grid, and off-grid systems, utilizing both renewable and non-renewable energy sources to meet the state's growing energy demands.
This development is expected to improve electricity availability and stimulate economic growth across Jigawa State.
