Hadejia Emirate Distributes N91m Worth of Zakkat to Over 1,500 Beneficiaries

Hadejia Emirate in Jigawa State has distributed a total of 1,526 bags of grains and 12 animals, worth over N91 million, as Zakkat to over 1,500 needy individuals in Lafiya Village, Guri Local Government Area.

The distribution, which took place at Lafiya Village, was witnessed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'adu Abubakar, who commended the Hadejia Emirate for its commitment to the welfare of the less privileged.

In his address, the Sultan emphasized the importance of Zakkat in Islam, saying it is one of the five pillars of Islam that every Muslim who has the means must give out.

The Emir of Hadejia, who is also the chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Chiefs, thanked the Sultan for honoring his invitation to attend the annual Zakkat distribution.

Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, who was also in attendance, assured that the state government will construct an accessible road from Guri to Lafiya Village within a short period.

The occasion was attended by dignitaries, including the chairman of the National Zakkat and Waqaf Committee, Professor Khalid Abubakar, and the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Adamu.
